The creating great wine takes a long time and a lot of patience. From concept to bottle, it takes years of thought and work to come to fruition. The timing has to be right, the vision has to be correct, and the stars have to align.

In 2021, something special happened. And now, we are ready to share it with you.

Introducing From the Sky Down, a new adventure in collaboration with Winemaker Todd Alexander. These wines are an incredible exhibition of what single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from the Columbia Valley is capable of when in the right hands - from grower to winemaker.

This is From the Sky Down.

The name From the Sky Down is rooted in the concept of everything that affects the wine.

It means the air.
The sun.
The aspect.
The exposure.
The wind.
The rain
The soil.
The climate.
The microflora.
The hands that create these incredible wines

Our aim in producing these wines is to showcase everything single vineyards and various vintages provide in their full transparency while amplifying them through the lens of a master winemaker who knows how to coax out the best qualities of each site; someone who has a solid, long-standing, diverse and proven track record of creating top quality, artisanal wines in any region through a low-impact, non-industrial approach that is based completely in natural methods and is vineyard-focused.

For those who don’t know, winemaker Todd Alexander exploded onto the Washington scene in 2014 after relocating from Napa, where he worked as winemaker and general manager at the famed Bryant Family Vineyard. There, he honed his skills, specifically focusing on Cabernet Sauvignon, with some of the best and brightest in the industry while he was there. He relocated and since then has been behind arguably most of the very top-of-the-top wineries, vineyards, and brands in the entire region. We could not be more thrilled for him to partner with us on From the Sky Down.

These are wines that truly rival the very best Cabernet Sauvignon produced anywhere in the world. They are unique and different in how they express place, varietal, and time, and most importantly, they are absolutely delicious and thrilling, and made with the utmost intention.

From the Sky Down is also a partnership. This partnership differs from others that Todd is involved with, because these wines are made from fruit sourced by some truly great vineyards within the Columbia Valley, but are not “estate-grown” vineyards. These wines are single-vineyard bottlings, showing the true character of the vintage and vineyards from which they came.

Our team endeavors to empower Todd to craft the finest expressions of single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from across the Columbia Valley AVA in Washington State. He has free reign to pursue this shared vision.
